A mountaineering party of three—two humans and one pet dog—recently got caught up in an avalanche while hiking in Alaska’s Chugach State Park. The two men survived but sustained some nasty injuries, and the dog was still out there. Lauren Padawer, the girlfriend of one of the mountaineers, immediately began working on a search-and-rescue effort to find the missing dog, a huskeydoodle named LouLou. Though she was out of the country, she leveraged the dog’s AirTag location and the help of strangers to locate and ultimately rescue the dog.

ABC News shared footage of the moment two rescuers found LouLou on the snowy slope. The all-white dog spent two days in the Alaska wilderness and was happy to come with the humans as soon as she saw them.
