Pro Skydiver Dies When Chute Fails to Open During Daring Jump

Skydiver Pierre Wolnik has died in a tragic accident, after his chute failed to open during a daring freefall jump from a helicopter in the French Alps. Wolnik was 37 years old, and officials do not yet know what happened with the champion-skydiver’s gear.

According to People, the accident happened on Saturday, February 7. Wolnik was in a wingsuit and had planned to freefall from the helicopter before deploying a parachute for safe landing. Sadly, something went wrong, and he died upon impact.
