A viral video from Christine Walsh Sanders shows a colorful family of black bears—one brown, one blonde, and one black—walking in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park. Although Grand Teton is home to both black bears and brown bears/grizzlies, all three animals in the video appear to be black bears, since they’re missing the characteristic shoulder hump of a grizzly.

As Sanders’ footage illustrates perfectly, black bears are not always black. While some are black, these bears can be several other colors as well, including brown, cinnamon, blonde, and blue/gray. It’s rare to see three colors at once, though.
“I literally can’t stop smiling . . . this was so special!!” wrote Sanders in her Instagram post sharing the incredible video. “A blonde, a brown and a black . . . what an exotic little family! This was a new one for me, I couldn’t believe my eyes.”
