Three women who survived the recent flooding in the Grand Canyon are opening up about their harrowing experience. Sisters Jessica Buscher and Melanie McGuirk and their friend, Katie Brink, were hiking the canyon rim-to-rim when a flash flood ripped through the area where they were hiking.

“Three women spent five hours clinging to each other and witnessed something they never want to see again during the deadly flood in the Grand Canyon,” wrote KSBW News in a Facebook post sharing the women’s interviews.
Buscher, McGuirk, and Brink describe seeing three men hiking behind them, and they believe these were the people who ended up missing or dying in the flood (two confirmed dead, one still missing). They also describe becoming separated from each other and then reuniting.
