The Comedy Pet Photography Awards were established a few years ago, by the same folks who run the Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards. Both series put photographers work on display that captures animals – domestic and wild respectively – in funny poses and awkward moments.

This year’s pet edition has announced its semi-finalists, and the photos are, of course, hilarious. From a poodle flying through the air to a cat sticking its tongue out to the camera, below are a few of our favorites.
The winners of the contest will be announced on August 11.
