The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office had a good idea to lure a wild cat from a woman’s home in Colorado, but it fell flat. A deputy tried to encourage a bobcat from its hiding spot inside the home by flashing his laser pointer—because all cats like lasers, right? This one wasn’t interested, but don’t worry, it got bored and left on its own.

“Unimpressed bobcat ignores lasers, strolls out of Ken Caryl home on its own terms,” wrote Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in its Facebook post sharing body-cam footage. “Cats and dogs chase laser pointers, but this bobcat was not impressed. When it wandered into a Ken Caryl home and cozied up behind the TV, our deputies thought outside the box—trying their TASER’s green lasers to coax it out. The bobcat’s verdict? Not interested. It left at its own pace, right out the open back door.”

Perhaps the best part of the video is the homeowner’s reaction. She said: “But it’s not a normal cat!” And then, “you guys are hilarious.”
“Guess some intruders just aren’t dazzled by our high-tech tricks,” the sheriff’s office joked.
