A woman out for her morning walk in a residential neighborhood suddenly saw something unexpected—it was a wallaby, and it was hopping right towards her. Although the woman lives in Australia, a wallaby is not a normal sight on her morning walk, nor is what happened next. As the wallaby hopped past the woman, who was now recording, the wallaby’s baby came flying out of its pouch, sliding to a halt on the sidewalk . . . and then the video went viral.

“Oh, Jesus,” the woman said, clearly in distress. “Oh my God, you forgot your baby!”

The wallaby joey wasn’t injured, and it hopped right up to the woman as the mother wallaby kept hopping on into the distance. The woman, who goes by tracy_mckendry13 on Instagram, abruptly ended her recording and called wildlife officials for help.
