WATCH: It’s a Historic Snow Day in New Orleans

It’s shaping up to be a “historic snow day” in the southeast Louisiana. In fact, it’s snowing in New Orleans, and that’s pretty rare. Local news is reporting the area could see up to six inches or more. As of 10 AM Central time, WDSU News says Hammond, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette were all seeing snow, as well as portions of the Gulf Coast.

One New Orleans meteorologist suggested this might end up being the biggest snowstorm New Orleans has seen since 1895. He shared a phot of the French Quarter under about 4 inches of snow, calling this a “once-in-a-lifetime” moment.
