Somewhere in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia, Canada, a kayaker became wedged in some shallow rocks. It was in that moment that he caught a glimpse of a wolf peeking out from the trees. In fact, it was a whole pack of coastal wolves, and they were curious about him. He decided to stay still and enjoy being in the wolves’ presence. Later, he shared a video of the surreal experience on social media.

Atticuspoetry suggests he’d been hoping to see an elusive coastal wolves for years. “They’re shy, careful, almost sacred creatures — the kind you don’t find unless they decide to let you,” he explains in the caption.
The morning he went kayaking in the Great Bear Rainforest and got a bit stuck in the rocks was this poet’s lucky morning.
“One wolf stepped out of the trees. Then another. Then an entire pack,” he wrote. “They could have vanished as quickly as they came, but instead they moved toward me — curious, cautious, impossibly close. For a few unforgettable minutes, I just existed there with them, breathing the same air, feeling the weight of their presence and their trust. It was one of the most surreal, spiritual encounters of my life.”
