WATCH: Local Pod of Orcas Casually Glides by Boat

If you’re boating off of Waiheke Island in New Zealand, you might just end up with the best lunch view ever—a pod of orcas calmly passing your boat in crystal-clear water. This happened to one boat captain who goes by Dutch and his sea dog Ruckus (@boatdogs on Instagram). A video of the surreal moment has gained a lot of attention online.

In the popular social-media video, Dutch whistles in appreciation as the orcas pass his boat. He then throws the animals a “hi, guys!” as he continues to film. As many people in the comments section note, the water is so clear that you can see the orcas’ entire bodies.

“Afternoon visitors . . . this is a local pod of Orca . . . cruising past looking for lunch,” wrote @boatdogs in the Instagram post sharing the video. Whales Nation is one of many outlets that picked up the video and shared it with its broad audience as well.

“The water is so clear you can see their whole body that is so amazing!” wrote one person.

“That is the coolest think I’ve seen in a while,” wrote another.
