WATCH: Make Way for this Massive Steller Sea Lion on Pier 39

A massive Stellar sea lion needed no introduction as it leapt onto a floating platform at Pier 39 in San Francisco Bay, scattering all the smaller sea lions that were sunbathing there first (at least almost all of them). One little sea lion stood its ground and shared the platform with the invader. ABC News shared a video of the funny scene to Instagram.

The large animal is a Steller sea lion (Eumetopias jubatus), a species that ranges from California up to Alaska in the Pacific Ocean. Compared to California sea lions (Zalophus californianus), this larger species stands out, to say the least.
