WATCH: ‘Oddball’ the Elk Just Wants to Have Fun (and Be a Cow)

An elk calf randomly joined a herd of cows near Pacific City, Oregon, and the herd’s owners aren’t mad about it. In fact, the elk does some strange things that bring a lot of joy to the humans who watch over the cows, and they’ve named the young elk “Oddball.” Oddball does do some odd things, like play in the sprinklers. Local KOIN 6 News shared a video of the elk living its best life, and people online are delighted.

The video shows Oddball playing in a sprinkler, pretend sparring with a cow, and grazing in a field among the cow herd as if it were one of them. The owners say Oddball has been an “accepted member of the herd” since March. Clearly, it’s a good fit.
