WATCH: Terrifying ‘Deer Incident’ at Michigan Old Folks’ Home

The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety in Michigan recently shared a news release and a video showing a “deer incident” at an assisted-living facility for senior citizens. A deer managed to trap itself inside a room where a 103-year-old woman lives. The woman was injured in the incident, but there are no details about exactly how.

On November 4, the assisted-living facility contacted the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety saying a buck was trapped inside a resident’s room, but staff couldn’t get in to help. They also couldn’t see the woman who lived there to ensure she was OK. Adding to staff’s terror, they could see blood around the room, likely from the buck as it thrashed around trying to escape.

Officers initially attempted to gain entry into the room the traditional way, but all the doors and windows were locked. Then, they decided to break the glass patio door, which allowed the deer to flee. In the footage, you can see the buck leaping at the glass trying to escape.

“After the deer had left, officers entered the apartment and confirmed the resident, a 103-year-old female, had sustained injuries,” the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety wrote in its Facebook post sharing the video. “She was conscious and alert and received medical attention on site before being transported to Henry Ford Jackson Emergency Room with non-life-threatening injuries.”
