WATCH: Videos Capture Beachgoers Running For Safety After Shark Spotting

Two new videos from the Florida Panhandle show some scary moments at the beach.

The WEAR, the ABC-affiliate in Pensacola, Florida, posted the videos after viewers shared them.

The first video came from Perdido Key Beach on Monday. In the scene, you can hear people screaming as they head out of the water to the beach. A shark’s fin is clearly visible in what looks like a scene from a movie.

A second video shared yesterday out of Navarre Beach shows a calmer scene, but in some ways, more frightening as the shallow Gulf Coast waters are full of people.

Despite the Hollywood portal of sharks, shark attacks are extremely rare. In fact, according to the Smithsonian Institution, your chances of being attacked by a shark are less than being struck by lightning. However, they do suggest people should respect sharks, and in cases like these videos, it’s best to give them some space.
