Trail-cam owner Allie Ladd captures some extraordinary footage of animals in the woods surrounding Byron, Maine. Ladd has strategically placed cameras around the area, but one spot in particular seems to attract a lot of wildlife: a log laying across stream in a remote part of the woods. It’s here that on one fateful day, Ladd’s trail cam by the log caught not one but two elusive creatures just hours apart—a fisher and a Canada lynx.

According to local news, which originally shared the video last year, the trail cam first picked up a fisher bounding across the log and walking into the distance on the far bank. Not long afterwards, a Canada lynx crossed the same log, stopping to sniff a branch and possibly smelling the fisher’s scent still lingering there from earlier in the day.
