WATCH: Bald Eagle Protects Her Nest From California Snow Storm

Amidst a snow storm near Big Bear Lake in California’s San Bernardino National Forest, a bald eagle showed her dedication to protecting her nest and the eggs inside it by sheltering them from the wind and snow. She looks kind of miserable, but she keeps those eggs nice and warm beneath her. The video also shows a wonderful example of an eagle’s call, so turn your volume up as you watch it.

“Big Bear Lake was hit with several inches of snow early this week, covering the nest of Jackie and Shadow, a bald eagle breeding pair,” writes Nat’l Park Explorer, which shared the video with permission from Friends of Big Bear Valley, a nonprofit that operates the Big Bear Bald Eagle Cam. “Through the storm, the eagle repeatedly shook snow off her feathers and rearranged the eggs underneath her to keep them warm.”
