A viral video shows the Northern Lights outside the window of a moving plane, and it’s spectacular. Steven Donovan was on a flight when the pilot announced that passengers on the left side of the plane should look out their windows. Donovan looked, and then he felt shocked that others didn’t follow suit. Nature was putting on a show, and Donovan got it all on video.

The time-lapse footage is simply stunning. It shows bright green and red hues lighting up the night sky as the plane soars through. Apparently, the plane’s captain appreciated Donovan’s video, too.

“The captain asked me to airdrop him this video when we landed,” Donovan wrote in his Instagram post. “I can’t believe nobody else on the plane was watching this.”
The video (posted yesterday) has over 7.7 million views so far.
