Wildlife techs in Maine did some rounds to local bear dens, collecting health data about newborn bear cubs still denning with their mothers. While doing this, they captured a video of what a bear cub sounds like, and it’s very cute.

“Sound on to hear a black bear cub!” wrote Christi Elliott in her Instagram post sharing the video. “Maine wildlife technicians visit the dens of the collared sows every winter to evaluate and collect health information about the bears. By monitoring the health and survival of these bears, biologists can infer what bears are experiencing across the State, information which helps them maintain a stable bear population. This male cub was returned to the den with his brother and mom.”
