Whale-watch captain Erica Page recently shared footage of some “flying dolphins” she and her group spotted off the coast of Newport Beach, California. While they weren’t actually flying, the marine mammals were leaping spectacularly high out of the water, showing off their serious strength and agility.

“FLYING DOLPHINS today aboard @newportcoastaladventure!” wrote Page in her Instagram post sharing the video. “These guys got some serious air when you consider they can reach 10ft in length and weigh 1000+lbs! These two were part of a HUGE pod of 200+ individuals, which is one of the biggest pods of bottlenose dolphins I’ve ever seen!”
