A barred owl mom shared a poignant moment with all parents when she took a break from caring for her newborns to stare blankly at a nest camera. Her disheveled appearance struck a chord with all moms who have lived through that postpartum phase and all other caretakers who have spent long days and nights caring for babies.

“It’s hard work taking care of little ones!” wrote Cornell Lab Bird Cams in an Instagram post sharing the funny nest-cam footage. “Mama Barred Owl is looking a little disheveled as she looks right at the camera with feathers on her face after feeding her owlets in Indiana.”

“She’s gazing into the void questioning her life choices,” joked one person in the comments section.
