Bobcat Sits and Stares at Hikers on Popular Yosemite Trail

Micah Diele recently shared footage of an unexpected sight on the trail to Nevada Fall at Yosemite National Park—a bobcat. Bobcats live in Yosemite Valley, but most people come and go without seeing one. Diele’s video shows the medium-sized wild cat sitting on some steps along the trail, staring at the oncoming hikers with wide eyes. Then, it moves off trail.

Hikers on the other side of the trail also stop to observe and film the animal, which blends so well into the rock that it’s hard to see until Diele zooms in.
