‘Come for the Golf, Stay for the Wildlife’: Bears Love This Course

Black bears, brown bears—a golf course in Alberta, Canada has all the bears. The course even has special rules for when bears wander across the green and interrupt a game. Kananaskis Country Golf Course embraces its wild space and all the wildlife that like to share the course. They share bear videos frequently and encourage customers to send in their photos and videos of wildlife on the course.

“We’ve had a lot of bear activity to start the season, and for that reason Alberta Parks has a ‘Bear Warning’ in place!” wrote Kananaskis Country Golf Course in a recent post sharing a video of a black bear walking across the green. “But don’t worry, our team at the golf course, alongside the Alberta Parks Officers work hard to keep the golfers safe while following proper procedures. Sometimes that means waiting a few minutes while a bear walks across the fairway, and other times needing to skip a hole (AUTOMATIC BEAR PAR). Either way, it is a once in a lifetime experience on the course and we love these animals so much.”

In another post, the course wrote: “Come for the golf, stay for the wildlife.”
