When Denise Peterson checked footage from one of her trail cams, she didn’t expect to see three baby bobcats playing around for a full half-hour. She says even though she’s been using camera traps for over a decade, this is one of her favorite things she’s ever seen. She also says this is “extremely rare behavior to capture on camera.”

Peterson is founder and director of Utah Mountain Lion Conservation, a nonprofit organization that seeks to provide research and education about mountain lions in Utah. She and her team use trail cameras to track wild cats, including mountain lions. This time, she was thrilled to find some bobcat kittens having fun.
“What’s better than one bobcat kitten? Three, of course!” Peterson wrote on her Facebook post sharing the footage. “Mom stashed these adorable bobcat kittens on this tree while she went hunting. They played here for a half a freaking hour!! This is some of the cutest footage I think I’ve ever gotten!!”
