It may be nearly spring, but it still looks like a winter wonderland in Pinetop, Arizona. Some motorists driving down a snowy, tree-lined road surrounded by towering trees got a treat when a large herd of elk crossed the road as they waited patiently for the herd to clear. Set to whimsical music, a video of the moment has gained traction on Instagram, with commenters calling the footage “majestic” and “beautiful.”

“Little winter drive on some backroads in town when we came across this herd crossing the road,” wrote Visit Pinetop-Lakeside, the official account for Pinetop and Lakeside, Arizona, in a recent Instagram post sharing the magical video. There doesn’t appear to be any traffic on this back road, which is probably why the elk felt safe to cross there.
