“Today marks day 6 of the search for Monica Reza in the Mount Waterman area of the Angeles National Forest,” wrote Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station in a Facebook post a couple of hours ago. “We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from search and rescue teams across the lower half of California. From San Diego County to Tulare County, dedicated volunteers from across the state have joined us in our mission to find Monica and bring her home.”
Officials also respectfully ask the public to avoid the search area. “Uncoordinated foot traffic can unintentionally interfere with tracking evidence, delay progress, or even create new emergencies,” the post says. “The best way to support the mission right now is to give trained teams the space they need to work safely and effectively.”
What Happened to Monica?
There is no official information about exactly what happened in the moments before Monica Reza went missing, but word is she was not alone. A comment on one of the sheriff’s office’s posts reads:
“This is my neighbor and we are all praying Monica is safe. What we know is that she went hiking with her yoga group/friends and her car was parked at one of their houses. How this could happen in a group setting is beyond me. Her family and the neighborhood is devastated and praying she is found safe. Anyone that is hiking in that Mt Waterman area please be in the lookout.”
In response to that comment, many express their shock that a person could go missing while hiking with a group. One person claims the group was jogging quickly on the trail, and one second Monica was there, and the next she wasn’t.
