If you’ve never seen frozen ice ripples quite like the ones in this video, you’re not alone. Amber, an outdoors lover who goes by @yoshi_bell on TikTok, enjoys going out and searching for unique ice formations during the winter. She found some gorgeous ice ripples that likely formed when it was very cold and very windy, preserving the wavy pattern on the surface of the lake for as long as the temperature remains below freezing.

“My favorite part of winter, frozen ice ripples,” Amber wrote in her TikTok video’s caption. The video has 7.4 million views. Many commenters chime in say they’ve never seen anything like it.
Although Amber doesn’t post location information, the general thought in the comments section is that this is likely Dream Lake, a high alpine lake in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s stunning to see the ice ripples on the lake in the foreground with the sharp peaks of mountains in the background.
