According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the bear cub became trapped in the Roxborough area, just south of Denver. Along with local Sheriff’s Deputies, they decided to intervene with a minimal approach and set up a makeshift ladder. The animal quickly figured out how to climb out.
This story has a happy ending, and the bear cub quickly located its mother according to the wildlife officials.
Officials also noted that this is a good reminder to dispose of food waste properly, especially if you live near bears. Anything edible left in an open container like this dumpster could attract wildlife.
