Watch as California Firefighters Rescue Two Deer Caught in a Gate

As you can imagine, being a firefighter in Los Angeles County means you stay busy, but sometimes calls are surprising even for them. The department recently responded to a bizarre call of two deer caught in the gate of a fence.

Rescuers found the animals in the Westlake Village area near the Santa Monica Mountains, home to thousands of wildlife species.

The department posted a video of the incident on social media. In the video, you can see fire crews helping to push the animals out eventually.

In the post, the LA County Fire Department said, “Their assistance can make a difference in ensuring the well-being and safety of wildlife.

The Humane Society of the United States has a comprehensive list of wildlife rehabbers for each state.
