An unusual “Montana golf hazard” recently took a few golfers by surprise. The golfers were stunned to see a cougar hanging out in a tree on a course. One man recorded a video of the mountain lion staring at him, and the rest is history.

“Not your normal golfing hazard, I gotta keep it in the fairway next time,” wrote cm4617 in a TikTok post sharing the footage.

Meanwhile, in the background, someone says, “You definitely get a free drop” (referencing a rule in golf in which a player can move his or her ball without penalty due to abnormal course conditions).
Do mountain lions in trees count as abnormal course conditions? We’d assume so.
