Four Men Prepare to Row From Washington State to Hawaii

Four men are planning to row across the Pacific Ocean, traveling 3,000 miles from Washington State to the Hawaii without motors or any external aid. The group calls themselves Row West, and it consists of Wilton Ngotel, Joshua Dukes, Johnny Martinez, and Greg Anderson. They’re set to get started at the beginning of May.

The four men have been training for this feat for quite some time, in some cases, even quitting their jobs to prep for this adventure. Their journey is expected to take 50-70 days.

“We are Row West, 4 everyday men who are setting out to accomplish something extraordinary,” write the men on their website. “Rowing from the Pacific Coast of Washington State to Maui, Hawaii! No sails, no engines, just pure human strength, grit, and determination.”

Contribute to Row West’s fundraising effort here, and follow along with their journey on social media.
