A couple of kayak anglers off the coast of Pensacola Beach, Florida, recently came face to face with what appears to be a tornadic waterspout that touched down in the ocean in front of them. Brandon Barton says he and a friend were heading back to the coast after they saw the second of two waterspouts touch down in the distance, but first, they had to turn around and take a video of the wild phenomenon.

“Huge water spout off Pensacola Beach this morning,” Barton wrote in his Instagram post sharing the footage.
Online community members with some meteorology chops argue about the exact term for this monster, but everyone seems to agree that whatever it is, it is huge.
