“There is a snake there, there is a snake there, there is a snake right here . . .” and so goes the narration from Taylor Lindstrom in his recent viral video as he stands on what appears to be a copperhead snake den. Lindstrom and his family were on a hike, when they suddenly realized there were a whole lot of snakes around them.

“Yeah there’s a few things I don’t mess with on this earth and pretty high on that list is poisonous snakes,” Lindstrom wrote in his Instagram post sharing the video, which has nearly 2 million views.
Many people in the comments section chime in to answer a question he poses in the audio, saying these snakes are copperheads.
“The snakes are copperheads, and they are not aggressive!” wrote one person. “They love solitude and if they could speak, would be totally chill guys. [Copperheads] are venomous, but will only strike if you directly threaten them with physical contact. They enjoy those large rock formations because they act as thermal mass, and help the snakes regulate their body temperature. You’re just chillin on their party rock with them!”
