A very happy dog named Thurgood was thrilled to see kayakers coming down a river in Columbia, Tennessee, and he ran out to greet each one. Kevin Latta recorded a video as Thurgood, a golden retriever, performed his important “duty.”

“No kayak is left ungreeted on his watch,” Latta wrote in an Instagram post sharing the video. “Back in Tennessee to resume his duties, which he takes VERY seriously, as the ‘Official Cheeks Bend Kayak Greeting Committee.'”
