An alligator grabbed an employee at a reptile center in Utah by the arm and wouldn’t let her go. A guest to the center, who was there for a child’s birthday party, captured footage of the terrifying incident, and it has now gone viral. Thankfully for the employee, a brave bystander was willing to jump into the enclosure with the gator and restrain it until it let go of the woman’s arm.

The video starts with a handler opening the alligator’s enclosure to feed the animal. It bites down on her arm and pulls her into the water. She stays remarkably calm but is clearly trapped. A man then jumps onto the gator’s back to help the woman, who ends up getting free. The injured handler then coaches the man through how he can get off the gator’s back safely.
The woman underwent surgery and is now recovering. Here is the company’s statement on the incident:
