Want Cheap Plane Tickets? Check out the New Google Flights Feature

The tech giant Google updated the Google Flights app so it now shows the best time to book a flight based on historical price trends, according to an announcement published this week.

The new feature will give you a timeframe when ticket prices are the cheapest based on variables like place of departure, destination, and travel dates.

In an example, the company showed a search for tickets from New York to Miami from December 21-29, and the results identified the prices as “high” and that cheaper rates are “usually” between September 17 and December 7.

In a statement, Google explained that these insights could tell you, the frugal traveler, how to find the “sweet spot” to book a cheap flight, so you can make your “decision with a greater sense of confidence.”
