Henri Kretschmer recently shared a video of a moose attacking him while he was riding a dirt bike on a trail in Canada. Kretschmer says it was the first moose he’s ever come across in his life, and he was very glad to never see it again.

“I learnt a lesson that day,” Kretschmer wrote in his Instagram caption. “That moose was running in front of me and I followed slowly, thinking it would go into the bushes to the left or Right. Instead this happened . . . So next time I will do my best, to just get away in the other direction!”

The viral video, which has over 10.7 million views on Instagram, shows the moose ramming into Kretschmer’s bike, knocking him over in the process. Kretschmer then tried to wait the moose out as it stared at him through the bushes. Eventually, he attempted to get back up and pick up his bike, but the moose came after a second time, chasing Kretschmer into the bushes himself.
Thankfully, the moose eventually left, and Kretschmer remounted his bike and rode away. He says in the video that he was very sorry for the moose, and that he didn’t want to hurt or scare it.
