A scary boating accident happened during the University of Florida’s (UF) fishing tournament. UF college anglers Hunter Bland and Conner Young of the Florida bass fishing team captured the frightening incident on their GoPro camera. They were running almost 60 mph, according to Scout.
The duo was ejected from their boat on Lake Seminole as they were running to their first spot after blastoff, but thankfully, the pair follows safety precautions. The tournament requires all participants to wear life jackets and kill switches while running.
According to sources at the event, a locknut come loose on the anglers’ hydraulic steering that took away the operator’s ability to steer, according to Scout. Ultimately, they lost control of the boat.
