Gear of the Year Awards 2016: Darn Tough Socks

The Camping Authority Announces Annual Gear Award for Darn Tough Socks.

Good socks aren’t cheap. We all know that. Socks for $15-$20 have been around for a while now, and people who spend a lot of time outdoors are willing to pay it. They need a sock that is comfortable all day on the trail. That doesn’t stretch out over time and start to sag into their boot (ugh…worst thing ever).

Darn Tough has been around for almost 40 years, and they’re hard to beat when it comes to both quality and customer service. Their socks are guaranteed for life. Hard to believe? We thought so too. The reason they’re confident enough to make this claim is because their socks have 1441 stitches per square inch. This makes them more durable than any pair of socks you’ve ever owned. They’re made in Vermont, and every single pair is hand inspected before it hits the shelf. This is one of those cases where a couple of extra bucks is money well spent.
