‘Mischievous’ Wolf Pup Hijacks Sign From Yellowstone Area (Video)

Taylor Rabe, a wolf technician in Yellowstone National Park, recently shared a funny video showing a mischievous wolf pup with an interesting “toy.” The young wolf’s play thing was, in fact, an important sign. The sign was there to warn visitors that there were grizzly bears in the area. Rabe’s video of the wolf carrying the sign is pretty funny to watch.

“When the pups (almost yearlings!!!) are away from their elders, this is when we see them being extra mischievous,” Rabe wrote in an Instagram post. “This young male from the Junction Butte pack successfully crossed the road in hopes of reuniting with the remainder of his pack, BUT found this really fun, and interesting toy as he made his way through the valley.”

Rabe explains that the closure sign from Yellowstone’s Bear Management team was there to warn visitors that grizzly bears were busy eating a carcass nearby. Oops.

“Clearly this pup had better things to do with it,” joked Rabe.
