Watch: A Bear Borrows a Hot Tub to Beat the SoCal Heat

A bear sighting in a busy part of Los Angeles County is a reminder that wildlife can show up anywhere.

The Burbank Police Department shared this video on their social media:

Police say the homeowner called 911 for an unwanted guest. When officers arrived, the bear was cooling off from the latest heatwave in someone’s hot tub.

People in the area say they’ve seen a recent uptick in wildlife sightings like black bears. Officials estimate around 150 to 500 black bears live nearby in Angeles National Forest.

The Burbank Police Department wants to remind locals that there’s no reason to panic. However, there are steps to take to keep both humans and bears safe.
